your secrets are anonymous. we built it that way on purpose.

what we collect

when you submit a confession, we store the text you typed, the card style you chose, and a one-way hash of your IP address. the hash rotates daily — meaning even we can't connect today's confessions to yesterday's. we use it only to prevent spam and abuse.

what we don't collect

• your name, email, or any personal identifying information (unless you create an optional account)
• your raw IP address (we only store a daily-rotating hash)
• tracking cookies beyond what's essential for the site to function
• browsing history or cross-site tracking data

optional accounts

if you choose to create an account (for premium features), we store a hash of your email for login purposes and an encrypted version for sending you magic links. we never store your email in plain text.

third-party services

• Google Analytics — anonymous usage statistics to help us understand traffic patterns. No personal data is shared.
• Stripe — payment processing for premium subscriptions. Stripe handles all payment data directly; we never see your card number.

data retention

confessions are stored indefinitely as part of the art project. IP hashes are rotated daily. rate limiting data is automatically purged. if you have an account, you can request deletion at any time.

your rights

since confessions are anonymous, we cannot identify which ones are yours (that's the point). if you used the tracking link provided after submission and need a confession removed, contact us.
